Staff Profile

Dr. Zafarnejad received her Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from the Harold and Inge Marcus Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering (IME) at The Pennsylvania State University. She holds a Master of Science in Healthcare Engineering from the Purdue University School of Industrial Engineering. Rey is a postdoctoral research fellow at MGH-ITA working with Dr. Mohammad Jalali (“MJ”). Along with this role, she is a research collaborator at BWH Orthopaedic and Arthritis Center for Outcomes Research.

Rey specializes in simulation modeling, health economics, epidemiological modeling, and health data analytics. Her research revolves around informing policy and prevention in various health problems, including opioid use disorder, HIV, chronic kidney disease, and musculoskeletal disorders.
