M. A. received their bachelor's degree from the Pennsylvania State University. They worked for 15 years at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, primarily with the Laboratory for Computer Science as a Systems Administrator and later as Director of the Computer Resource Services Group, the team providing central computer infrastructure for the 600+ researchers/staff and 1200 computers. Looking for an opportunity to use their skills in a smaller setting and energized by the quality and production ability of the ITA, M. A. joined the team in January, 2005.
Since their arrival, M. A. has worked diligently to upgrade and maintain the computer and server environment at the ITA. M. A. also is primarily responsible for design and maintenance of the ITA website, as well as several research-project-related websites. They have served as a member of the Research Information Security & Privacy Advisory Committee at Partners (now Mass General Brigham).
