Winta T. Mehtsun, MD MPH, is a general surgery residency at Massachusetts General Hospital where she has just completed her third clinical year. She is a research fellow in the Department of Health Policy at the Harvard School of Public Health working with Dr. Ashish Jha. Her primary interests are in cost variation, healthcare utilization, and the implications of health care policy in surgical care.

Winta completed her B.S. in Chemistry at the University of Virginia in 2003, where she was a UNCF Merck Fellow. She received her MD at the University of Virginia in 2012 and her Master's in Public Health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in 2011
