Hannah Wong, PhD
|Assistant Professor at the School of Health Policy & Management at Canada's York University|
Hannah is currently an Assistant Professor at the School of Health Policy & Management at Canada's York University. She received a BSc. from the University of Windsor, an MSc. from the University of Waterloo, and a PhD from the University of Toronto (Mechanical and Industrial Engineering). Her doctoral dissertation involved the use of system dynamics (a methodology that helps understand complex feedback systems over time) to study the common and chronic operational problem of patients boarding in the emergency department (ED) who have been admitted to hospital. This work has helped clinicians and hospital managers move forward from a better understanding of the ED congestion problem to taking action in redesigning hospital policy to improve hospital-wide patient flow.
